It’s safe to assume that we all have and know how to search for an image on Google. However, have you ever come across an image on a website or maybe an image on your own computer and wanted to find a larger version or perhaps something similar to it? You may already be enlightened on the information I am about to share with you but if you did not know this already then you are about to fall in love with Google all over again.
You can now use a picture as your search criteria to find related images from around the web. Here’s an example, if you search using a picture of your favorite artist or musician, you can find similar images, websites about them, as well as sites that utilize the same photo. Google refers to this as “Reverse Image Search” and here is the step by step on how to do it.
To search for an image from your computer
- Visit images.google.com or click the camera icon in the search box on any Images results page.
- Click Upload an image.
- Click Choose file.
- Select the image from your computer.
To search for an image from a website using your computer
- On any website, right-click an image and select Copy image URL.
- Visit images.google.com or click the camera icon in the search box on any Images results page.
- Click Paste image URL.
- Paste the URL you copied into the box.
- Click Search by image.
Now you can explore the web in an entirely new way by beginning your Google search with an image.
Hope this has helped you reach higher heights and as always please leave any questions / comments below or contact me directly. 🙂
